Computer-Mediated Communication

Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) is the term used for using two or more networked computers for communication via computer-mediated formats; such as, instant messages, e-mails, chat rooms and text messaging. There are three kinds of communicative environments: instants messaging, chat rooms and conferences. The common used ones are Yahoo Messenger, Skype, MSN, Windows Messenger, PalTalk, iVisit and AOL. CMC is cheap, available in audio communication and widely used in language learning to practice their language.
